In this Lab I will be using the dir and copy command in windows command prompt.
To use the dir command:
To use the dir command:
- Set the default directory to c:/users by typing "cd c:/users".
- Type "dir" to see the files/folders listed under your default directory. The results should look like below:
Now I will demonstrate using the copy command:
- First I changed the default directory to be "c:/lab". And created a text file in this folder called "Lab 10-01.txt"
- Next, I did a "dir" check just to be sure that the file/folder was listed.
- Now In order to copy you have to type exactly where the file is located. I made this mistake my first time, only typing what the file was called. So, for my instance this would be, "copy C:/lab/lab 10-01.txt" This screencap below should show these results:
